About Silver
Every breeder has a heart dog, and Silver is mine. We brought him home in 2022 from a difficult situation—fully intending to “just foster him for a while and then move him along.” Ten-year-old Max quickly clarified the real plan, announcing, “Yeah… move him along into our hearts.” And that’s exactly what happened.
Accomplishments
Silver may not be a show dog, but he absolutely runs the show at home. He is the springiest of all our Salukis—we’ve watched him clear a five-foot fence with the same effort most people use to step over a sidewalk crack.
And while he doesn’t have titles, he has an even more important role: he is, without question, the best puppy raiser in the entire Southeast. Every youngster we bring home is welcomed, soothed, mentored, and gently bossed around by Silver himself.
When he arrived, Silver could hardly be touched. If guests visited, he would cower in a corner and tremble, often urinating from fear. Over the years, he has slowly learned that people can be safe. Now, once you’ve earned a spot in his inner circle, he greets you with love, snuggles, and enthusiastic face nibbles. He is our most loyal companion and unquestionably the heart of our home.

Pedigree
Silver comes from one of the finest pedigrees in the country. Bred by Valerie Gorham, he is the product of outstanding lines, and we are eternally grateful that she trusted us with this remarkable dog. It’s a shame he couldn’t be included in our breeding program—his conformation and temperament are everything anyone could want in a Saluki. We treasure every moment with him… well, except the ones where he expresses his displeasure by peeing in the house.
